Cat Scott has lived in Sullivan County for most of her life, graduating from both Delaware Valley Central School and Sullivan Community College. Cat has worked in various positions throughout Sullivan County, all of which put people first. Her career has included work in sales and customer support where she has developed her core strength in understanding the needs of others, as well as work in social services where her empathy and compassion have made a real difference for those she served.
Cat has served her community for over two decades in numerous volunteer positions. Many of these positions were in leadership roles where her passion and skills motivated the community and the organizations she served. Most recently, she has used these skills in her advocacy for the Care Center at Sunset Lake, the Certified Home Health Agency and other county service organizations, and their employees.
Cat currently leads the client service team for Delaware River Solar, the Callicoon-based community solar provider with which she has been associated since its founding in 2016.
Cat enters the race for Sullivan County legislature to bring civic process and civil discourse back to Sullivan County government.
Like many in the U.S., the people of Sullivan County face a number of challenges. As I speak with people during the campaign, I hear how our residents can struggle to find affordable housing, can struggle to find good jobs with fair wages. Youth engagement is more important than ever to our county as our young people face challenges with substance abuse and a lack of direction, a lack of opportunity. Our seniors face particular challenges as they seek accessible and reasonable health care. And everyone in our county is concerned about maintaining fiscal responsibility. The challenges faced by Sullivan County are many, which is why I am in this race. I am in this race to address the challenges faced by all of the people of Sullivan County.
I have devoted significant time and energy to volunteering with a number of local groups, organizations, and events. Over the years, I have served in leadership positions within these organizations and have aided in raising tens of thousands of much-needed dollars. I’ve had the pleasure and honor to work with the Jeffersonville JEMS, Friends of the Western Sullivan Public Library, Delaware Youth Center, and the Jeffersonville Area Chamber of Commerce.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission.
